Mikael Delta was born and raised in Athens where he studied graphic design and illustration.

He begun writing music in 1992, as a lead member of the band Stereo Nova (the best Greek band according to MTV Europe in 1994). Stereo Nova produced 5 albums and were connected powerfully with a fanbase that slowly but steadily grew larger and lasted many years after their break-up in 1997.

In 1996 he released his first solo work entitled The Picture, under the famous techno label R & S Records in Belgium .

In 1999 his second album Blue Emotions was released in Glasgow by Glasgow Underground Records and received excellent reviews by the British music press (Dj Magazine, Mixmag, Jockey Slut). The same year he released his album Nepeta in Greece under the small indie label Studio2 Records.

In 2000 he collaborated with the Greek artist Tania Tsanaklidou and they released the best selling single Mia Agapi Mikri (A Little Love) under the indie label of Mylos. The track was included in the French compilation “Siddharta”, compiled by DJ Ravin (known for his Buddha Bar series). One year later their collaboration album To Chroma Tis Imeras (The Colour Of Day) was released by Universal Records.

In 2001 he released Halcyon Days under the French label Distance Records. Halcyon Days made him widely acclaimed as a producer abroad. He travelled in France and UK for live performances and promotion of the album which was among the best albums of the year for DJ magazine (a list including artists like St.Germain and all the best releases of the current Nu-jazz scene)

In 2002 he released the album Vulnerable, under the same label, featuring the German electro–diva Billie Ray Martin and producing the major hit single “I Am Not Keen”.

In 2003 he released the album Ouranio Toxo (Rainbow) (Warner Music) which received excellent reviews and was widely discussed for its challenging thematology.

In 2004 he signed with the Greek electronica label Klik Records. Three albums came out: Dancing with an angel (2004), Deep inside (2005), Timeless beauty (2006). Klik Records has successfully launched these releases abroad in collaboration with the German label Kompakt.

In December 2006 he released his album Forbidden Poetry (EMI Music). “Forbidden Poetry” received brilliant reviews by the Greek press and has been acclaimed as the best album of his career so far.

Mikael Delta has also written music for plays, dance performances, children’s plays and the original scores for two Greek films: “Oi Arithmimenoi” (directed by Tassos Psarras) and “Alithini Zoi” (Real Life) (directed by Panos Koutras)
